Cub Scout Pack 212
Cub Scout Pack 212 has been chartered by Christ The Vine Lutheran Church in Damascus, Oregon since 2005. We have a great program for youth in kindergarten through fifth grade and currently have 22 boys and girls participating. Scouts meet in small groups (dens) of youth from the same grade on Tuesday nights in the Grape Room.
Pack 212 serves the youth in the communities of Damascus, Boring, and Happy Valley. Our mission is to instill strong character values in our youth, while giving them a chance to have fun and learn about our world. Most recently, we collected food for the CTV Food Bank and built and raced cars at our annual Pinewood Derby. This summer we’ll be attending summer camps at Butte Creek Scout Ranch and Camp Baldwin Webelos Base Camp. The purposes of Cub Scouting are physical fitness, character development, and citizenship. If you ask a youth, however, they’ll seldom offer these reasons for being a Cub Scout. Youth have one primary reason to join Cub Scouts, and that’s to have FUN! We invite you to come and see just what cub scouting is all about! Please find more information, including contact info, on our Facebook page at our Damascus Cub Scout Pack 212 Facebook page.
Special thanks to Den AOL (Arrow of Light) for recently spreading bark dust around the church property! (Oct 2024)
Scouts BSA Troop 212
Scouts BSA Troop 212 has been chartered by Christ The Vine Lutheran Church in Damascus, Oregon since 2010. The troop is for boys 11 to 17 years old and offers an exciting youth-led program backed by the mentoring of adult volunteers. Troop 212 currently has 9 registered scouts and meets Monday nights in our “Grape” Room. Scouts BSA is about building character, developing personal fitness, and learning leadership and citizenship. These goals are achieved in a challenging outdoor program. The adventure of hiking, camping, swimming, boating, high-adventure challenges, and touring is woven into the program. The Troop’s youth leaders create, plan, and carry out the troop program. Recent troop activities have included exciting events such as backpacking, horseback riding, white water rafting, a sailing trip at the Florida Sea Base and lots of camping. This summer the troop will be camping for a week by Mt Hood at Camp Baldwin to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, archery, rifle shooting, water sports, and many other activities as well. Troop 212 invites all adventure-minded boys to come and see what Scouts BSA is about.

The Timberline District of the Cascade Pacific Council, BSA serves the communities of Damascus, Estacada, Happy Valley, Milwaukie, Sandy, Gresham, Troutdale, and NE Portland. Volunteers and paid professionals from the district support the 39 Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venture Crews, Explorer posts, and Sea Scout Ships that make Scouting happen through mentoring, events, and administrative support to adult leaders.
Christ The Vine supports these efforts on Thursday nights for District administrative meetings, Roundtable gatherings of the community’s adult leaders, Order of the Arrow chapter meetings (Scouting’s Honor Society), and Trail to Eagle Night to assist youth in reaching Scouts BSA’s highest rank. For more information on the Timberline District, contact Tim Giorgi.
